Overpriced but works as intended

I love my power probe and use it every week. I decided it would be good to have this adapter in my arsenal of diagnostic tools. IMHO this is too expensive and should be included in the power probe wiring kit. Works as intended and looks good together.

ECU[M] Saver, Time Saver, Work Saver

I got this for my son who works as a mechanic and I got him a Power Probe for Christmas a few years ago and mention that PP is the killer called "ECU[M]" since you can accidentally apply 12VDC when testing related circuits. This 5V DC shunt, when used properly, will not allow you to apply more than 5V DC to the circuit under test. My son was delighted to get this as a stocking filler this year, he said it would save him a lot of work and time.

POWER PROBE!: Electric

This just adds another GOLD star to the Power Probe package. This adapter plugs between the Power Probe and the handpiece you are using, and limits the probe's output voltage to 5 volts, so you don't have to worry about damaging any modules, sensors, or circuitry that uses the 0 to 5 volt operate the system. .I am 63 years old and have been in the automotive industry since around 1972. I've been using the Power Probe since 2001 after borrowing it from a mechanic at my workshop. All the tools I…

The functionality and safety of this adapter is overstated

Note that the only function of this adapter is to limit the output voltage to 5V when power is applied (power, not ground. Ground doesn't work with it) . If you don't connect anything to the power supply, and you shouldn't unless you know exactly what the circuit is, you don't need this adapter. Of course you don't want to use 12 when you need 5, but you don't want to use 5 when you need 12 either. This adapter is also said to limit current, but there are no instructions or instructions for it,
