Good, but not quite balanced

Okay, the saw was on the saw and cut normally. but I don't think it's all constant weight. The band saw runs smoothly with other saw blades, but vibrates. even tremble from it. It's not that I can't use it, but it's noticeable and alarming at first.

Blade with a good fine kerf

I like it. These are thin cutting knives. Made for finer cutting. If you are looking for a blade that you can abuse or use with a poorly adjusted machine. This blade probably isn't for you as it's made of a slightly thinner material than most blades. Every bandsaw blade on the market has a weld that will become visible if your guides are not properly adjusted. Open them up a bit so you don't feel the need to give bad reviews of good blades.

Pros
  • Power and hand tools
Cons
  • Nothing here

Stopped cutting almost immediately

I used the blade on .1875 inch (3/16) thick 6061 T6 aluminum. I know it's a bit thick for a 24 TPI blade, but it should work fine at the reduced drive speed. Recommended 18 to 14. Bandsaw speed reduced and cutting fluid applied after cutting speed slowed past the first inch. After 6 inches of cutting, I stopped the saw and checked the teeth. . Many of them were rounded, some had aluminum stuck to the surface. Not enough teeth to remove chips and avoid overheating. I was expecting a bit of…

Normal saw blade, but has limited use

Powertec Band Knife β…œ inch, 6 steps per inch, 0.014 inch Good saw blade, but has limited use. Summary: Fairly sharp, economical blade at a reasonable price ($10 at time of review). Suitable for hobby and occasional use on thin/soft materials at low speeds. Miracles are bad. Discussion: This blade is very thin/thin (slightly thicker than other toilet paper I think, but slightly more abrasive). A homeowner can purchase a β…œ inch 6 TPI blade to find a balance between speed and maneuverability. 6…

PowerTec saw blade broke in less than a month

I bought a PowerTec 80" x 1/4" x 6 TPI for my band saw less than 30 days ago. When I installed it the blade didn't sound right even after I checked the installation. Wood was burning on a 3/4 inch thick pine and the machine was making more noise than usual. The blade broke today and severed 3/8 of a pine. I put the old blade back in so I could continue cutting without any problems. Olson 80" x 1/4" x 10 TPI to see if their brand holds up better than PowerTec.

Pros
  • Construction: This precision cutting tool is designed with optimal tooth geometry for seamless cutting results with high productivity
Cons
  • unreliable

I cut wood and micarta. I bought a wood saw blade and a metal saw blade. Both blades failed almost immediately. I have a Bosch cordless drill, great product. I bought another set of blades after the first set failed, both failed. I found a commercial supplier and bought two blades of each type. I cut mild steel with a hacksaw. These latest commercial blades cut thousands of percent more.

Pros
  • Quality: Band saw blade made of high quality premium carbon steel with heat resistance and weld seam
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Stopped cutting almost immediately

I have the blade on .1875" (3/16) thick 6061 T6 Aluminum used I know it's a little thick for a 24 TPI blade but it should have worked fine at a reduced blade speed (18 to 14 recommended).. After 6" of cut I stopped the saw and checked the teeth .Many of them were rounded, some had aluminum stuck to the surface. Not enough teeth to clear chips and prevent overheating.I was expecting some clogging, but I wasn't expecting the teeth to regain their sharpness in less than 2 Losing minutes completely…

Pros
  • Application: Flexible hard edge carbon blade works great on hardwoods, softwoods, plastics and plus nonferrous metals
Cons
  • Some insects
