jam with dust. for Power Tool Parts and Accessories

This gate clogs with dust in an instant. I opened it up, cleaned it and taped it back up. It worked for a short time, then turned off again. I bought their aluminum version which looks MUCH better.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Nothing Here

Power Tool Parts & Accessories

I bought this to be able to switch between a miter saw and a table saw but it's difficult to get both saws to close fully, something seems to be preventing the gate from closing fully but it there is nothing there

Pros
  • Fun
Cons
  • Drill Bit Pack

Clogged and almost impossible to clean

I used them for the dust collection system in the garage. This blast gate worked for about a month before my system started to lose performance. They clog with sawdust and are almost impossible to clean. Better to build it yourself.

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons
  • Negative gift

Stop sharing the power of vacuum!

I wanted to direct more suction to the miter saw since it shares a hose with the table saw. Access to toggle is awkward so I made a wooden brace to hold the gate and added a small metal hook handle to make it easier to grab. Works perfectly!

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Guard

Problems closing the gate.

I bought them as part of the vacuum system in my shop. Unfortunately, shortly after installation, they did not close completely, which greatly reduced the efficiency of the entire system. I had the same problem with both sizes I bought. I do not recommend this product.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Almost never

dust collection system.

Does what it is supposed to. Good action. good lockdown I used silicone tape instead of glue to prevent leakage and also to allow me to flip things if I realize I've done something wrong. They fit just right with a 1.5" PVC cross fitting. Allowed me 2 lines to a miter/table, a suction line to a vacuum, and a random line to a random tool/or canister vacuum.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Fine

Very disappointed not to recommend

Describing this product as "self-cleaning" is ridiculous. If you buy this, expect to frequently have to disassemble your system to take it out and clean it. Oh, and by cleaning I mean you CANNOT clean them effectively. The chute, where material accumulates and makes you unable to close it properly, is so deep you can't even get a tool to clean it! Everything about it is disappointing and not worth it. It's time to swap them out for something better. I wish I had never spent money on them.

Pros
  • Stable results when tested
Cons
  • There are nuances

They clog and become unusable. See photos below.

When I was starting out I bought this blast gate for my lumber business. They seemed great at first, I bought 6 of these for about $36. I've been using them for about 7 months and already replacing them with metal for about $50. The problem with them is that they get clogged and almost impossible to clean. The pocket that the door slides into has no opening at the bottom to push out dust and debris. I even cut one open to show how dust collects in the bag and prevents it from closing completely

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Null
