I use it every day for sanding and it doesn't leave marks or colour, holds up well until it gets dusty so vacuum it and it's good again. However, it is EXACTLY the same product used for the cardboard inserts.

Once there's a little dust on top and under them, they lose their grip. So if your target for them includes sawdust, it won't take long. Clamps are still the best way to get most woodwork done.

It does not hold the workpiece at all and does not remain on the work table when grinding, milling, etc. Especially when dust accumulates. The products are much better there. This is more for a drawer or shelf liner. I was disappointed that it is advertised for woodworking.

I mainly put boards on it for sanding but also used for hand planing. Works very well. You MUST avoid the accumulation of large amounts of very fine dust (reduces holding power) and you MUST wipe down the workbench before placing it on the table.

I was doing a woodworking project that required a lot of sanding. Before I bought it, I held the part with one hand and sanded it with the other hand. When this item was delivered, I immediately put it on my workbench. With this pad I was able to sand without moving the part all over the table. It's not an item that most people are likely to use every day, but if you need to grind you'll be glad you have it. This pad was inexpensive and worked very well to keep the piece from moving.
