Definitely a cheap knife, I have no complaints about the mat itself but when using the blades on a small stenciling project two of the tips broke in succession during work. Process. Would recommend if you need a quick tool for a small project, but if you need something permanent for a project I wouldn't recommend using these blades, or at least not without safety goggles to keep the blade tips from flying in your eyes.

I bought this rug and found it too thin so I sent it back unused. This is a cutting mat, after all - I was expecting something I can cut but can't cut. Admittedly I've never used it for cutting, I just didn't like its thinness or brittleness. ) is beautiful and heavy. I am very happy with the Vantage mat.

I have not used the mat yet. But the knife is great. Very sharp, like a surgical scalpel, very precise. Very comfortable in the hand. It will change color depending on what it is used for (e.g. onions, no I won't explain) but most of it will rub off. At this point, however, it's time to switch blades. Which reminds me. Tilt the blade cover properly when putting it on or taking it off and both my adult daughter and I had a little kickback and cut ourselves a bit the first time.

I like the size of this board and the size markings on it. Mine arrived flat but had a strong odor so I gave it 4 stars. I think the plastic packaging was part of the smell. I kept it in a courtyard for a few days and although it wasn't that strong, it still smelled. I washed it with dish soap and let it dry and that seems to have helped get rid of the smell. Contrary to many reviews mentioning the lack of "self-healing", I found that after cutting many different things on it (from paper to fabric to cardboard) there was no trace. It still looks like new. In addition, the knife works very well. I have used this product to cut foam board and tape. Everything was fine with the sharpness of the blades so far, it was easy. It's very small on a self-healing mat, which is okay given the price, but not exactly self-healing. Are they all like this? No they are supposed to get back together so it's good for art/hobby but as an artist/professional I'm disappointed especially when I had to cut paper on a carpet every day.
