This yarn is not suitable for crocheting. First, it is listed as a medium 4 but is almost half the width of my other yarns in medium 4. Second, it untangles completely; it doesn't roll effectively. It lies in three stands above the hook. Because of this, trying to crochet with it will take 3-4 times longer. I would not recommend this at any price.

For the first time with cotton yarn. Because I love cotton jersey kitchen towels and saw that they were advertised for $12 each, I bit the bullet and bought this giant roll. That's great. I've made two now and plan to make a few more (or show my 9 and 12 year old granddaughters how to make it) to give as gifts. They are easy to knit, and the bobbin itself is wonderful: it unwinds gradually and smoothly (not like skeins). I just wish it came in other colors.

As long as only one color is used in a project, this 85% cotton/15% polyester brand does very well. I bought a total of 7 cones. The 3 different types, polka dot, heather/ombre and solid color do not work on the same scale. Speckled closer to size 4, worsted weight. Solid colors are best described as size 3 or sport/dk. The colorful/ombre lies in between. The 15% polyester in this yarn makes it less than ideal for kitchen towels.
