not suitable for air conditioning

I've tried various ways to fit this one into the cavity where the old one came out but nothing helped. It's just too big. It may be functionally equivalent to the original BMW unit, but is obviously much less reliable. I wanted to try it but I couldn't install it. The photo shows a significant difference in design.

Since the fan fan was intermittent, I tried the fan resistance first. Fits.

The fan was intermittent, either working properly or not. The likely cause could be the fan motor, this resistor (aka "power stage"), the fuse, or the dashboard control module (aka "IHKA"). After replacing this motor resistor, the fan now runs at 100%. This part is not easy to access and remove, but if you work on it a bit it will come out.
