This is normal. They are overpriced for what they are and the pictures are a bit deceptive as to the size. The largest for flour is actually wide enough to fit a 1C measuring cup. See photo for scale. They do what they say but it's too expensive. What a shame because I really wish I had a few more in my pantry, but it's not worth another $100.

Overall I like these containers. I used to use OXO Push Top Tanks but decided to give them a try because of their unique properties. I really like these containers and for the most part they are well designed. Pros: Closes very well. Thoughtful design. Strong. FYI, flour, sugar, and brown sugar are ideal. Easy to clean, wash in warm soapy water before use. There are no instructions for this, but detailed pictures on the back of the box explain all the features. No unpleasant smell as some report. You have a bag full of flour and sugar. They don't come with labels. I added them myself. Grab a cute label punch, chalkboard card, and white gel pen. Fastened with transparent packing tape. I've been looking for kitchen containers for a long time and this was the first set I found designed with functionality rather than aesthetics in mind while still looking sleek and modern. Each canister was designed for what it should contain. The flour container holds a medium-sized bag of flour from the supermarket and has a leveling bar.
