Not too impressed with the best fasteners

I'm a rather slight 52 year old male and managed to break the head of one of the 16 with a 6 inch socket. (And yes, I drilled the correct size pilot hole). I'm just trying to push them down enough that the washer doesn't dangle rather than trying to actually spin them. Somewhat acceptable for non-critical applications. I wouldn't use them to hang a porch swing or anything else that really matters.

Pros
  • Screws
Cons
  • Long delivery

This Prime-Line 9055686 5/16" x 2-1/ 2" bolts are not hot dip galvanized as shown in the picture above, they are conventional zinc plated/galvanized. They will rust quickly if used outdoors where exposed to the elements. Definitely not for use in pressure treated wood. I am keeping them for salon work though and really need to order the correct galvanized screws elsewhere.

Pros
  • Screws
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Just received them in less than 24 hours of ordering And at a Better price than the big hardware store just around the corner. The same product that is available at the hardware store. I am concerned about my application. Luckily the shank is only 1/4" long, enough for the washer and bracket I have to attach to the tree. One star off because they are made in China. If they were made in Big America (USA/MEX/Central/Canada) I would give 5 stars.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Non-Automatic
