Description of 20-Pack Prime-Line 9075237 Nylon Insert Lock Nuts, 1/4 in.-20, Grade 18-8 Stainless Steel

Size: 1/4 inch-20. Features an internal nylon ring that grips bolt threads better than a standard finished nut. Great for use in applications where the bolt may be subject to vibration. Can also be used as a secondary nut to help lock the main nut in place. The side with the nylon insert should face towards the tip of the bolt, not towards the surface being fastened.

Waste of Money - my new review

As a result of my tests, I determined that these screws were poorly manufactured and did not fit properly in the intended application. The provided thread was too weak to hold the weight of the object it was attached to. The only positive aspect was that they were made of stainless steel.

Pros
  • Stainless steel
Cons
  • Poorly manufactured, weak thread.

Good quality fasteners

Good quality lock nuts. Similar to other lock nuts I have purchased from West Marine for over double the price for this size .

Pros
  • Size: 1/4"-20
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Had to cut bolts and buy other nuts

Another review mentioned quality issues and wear. I can confirm that this is the case with THREE separate screws. I had to drill out the head of one screw and cut off the other two. I got another 1/4-20 nut locally and it worked great. . $3 for $50 time.

Pros
  • Can also be used as an extra nut to hold the main nut in place
Cons
  • Very expensive
