Definitely high quality canvas at an affordable price. When planning images larger than 12" x 16", I overwhelmed myself and have already built several images in 12" x 30", 18" x 30", and even 18" x 48". . The canvas is durable and smooth, definitely better than the level 1 or 2 canvas you can buy at Michael's or JoAnn. The foundation is also subtle and fairly white. I love stretching my own canvases, something about going through the process gives me a sense of satisfaction when the final painting is finished. The canvas tension is sometimes too tight. Because of this, I tear some of them - I pull too hard. I've never had this canvas tear and have stretched some fairly large formats. Not too thick: - I hate canvases that are too thick to work with.
