Description of Processor Intel Core i7-3820 LGA2011, 4 x 3600 MHz, BOX
- All "+" are described more than once. I am writing specifically about 3820!
- Inherent in all models and lines of Intel . price, everything else is different for each user.
- Top stone. Support for 4-channel memory mode. High overclocking potential. PCI-E 3.0 support. Huge amount of cache. Processor for growth.
- As if "" "slightly" "" confuses the price .
- Excellent performance, especially good for multi-threaded tasks.
- Sufficiently high power consumption (and hence heat dissipation) and the price bites, although for those who need this percentage for work or games at high settings, this is not such a big drawback. Here with the core i7-3960x for 30k, it’s definitely idiocy.
- Heats up less. The performance is 10 - 20% higher than the top hit i7-990x. Built-in memory controller. 3 PCIe. Support for 4-channel memory access. Accelerates great. In fact, this is the TOP.
- Too long can not appear in stores. Due to problems with the disabled VT technology, people who are not knowledgeable, simply decided to wait with the purchase, and now they have to wait as much as January 20th. Otherwise, there are no shortcomings. Because there is nothing more powerful. There is no alternative. Xeons of the same performance cost from $2,000
- Performance. For example, DxO Optics responded very positively to the increase in the number of cores compared to the i7 920. hyperthreading. 12 threads and that says it all Decent overclocking potential. Quietly wound up immediately at 4.5 GHz under Silver Arrow-SBE. The top platform (Socket 2022) allows you to count on decent motherboards with full support for various peripherals
- Cost (by the way, it hasn't changed much lately) Dear Platform 2022 For games it will be a waste of money in the vast majority of cases, it is better to look towards Haswell or Ive Bridge
- 6 cores 12MB cache and 40 PCI-E lanes. Unfortunately, there is nothing more to add to the merits except for its main characteristics.
- 4 channel memory controller. It would seem that this should be one of the main advantages, but alas: this controller is actually two 2-channel controllers from the usual Sandy Bridge. Due to the incredibly high ping for such a link, its real throughput is lower than that of SB. (Which is quite sad - even using the 2-channel mode does not save the situation) It also affects the maximum memory frequency. The probability of getting a chip that will pull 2666MHz is almost the same as winning the lottery. Even 2400 is far from being pulled by everyone, although mine copes. lack of official support for PCI-E 3.0. In essence, the problem is not big, however, especially unsuccessful copies of the 3.0 chip are not really supported, which is very unfortunate, because otherwise what is the use of 40 lanes. In general, a weak Uncore block, the percentage is very sensitive to the voltage on the controllers (VTT and VCCSA), if something goes wrong, it can degrade very quickly.
- 3930k. just a hurricane! Accelerates great. IMHO this is the best price / quality ratio for a professional working in three-dimensional graphics to this day.
- Not the most budget option. The price . but it has not changed much in a year and a half, which indicates its adequacy)))
- 6 cores 12 threads, good overclocking potential.
- The price, for games "money down the drain", will not be better - alas, you cannot build a processor from 1 atom.
- I am writing about model 3820: -prices yum-yum, bought for 9, really waited until it reaches 2022. Came to 2022, the price was 12990 box version. A month later I took OEM for 9100. Normal. - overclocking to 4.625 GHz is easy, in the air 70-75 degrees in a linpack - support for 40 PCI-e lanes -LGA 2022 - put 16 GB of RAM, smartly like that
- Yes, well, what are you!
