Good little coffee maker for a small house, apartment or cottage

This is a good little coffee maker for a small house, apartment or cottage. I've been using it every day for three years and it's simple, reliable and easy to use. It fits well under low cabinets, retains the coffee's flavor and temperature, is inexpensive and easy to maintain. I've just replaced mine with the same model because the old one has gotten a bit rough around the edges (although it still worked pretty well).

Pros
  • Nicely
Cons
  • Expensive Insurance

This thing is infected!

I couldn't use this product because I can't clean it yet! I have read the instructions. With no white vinegar in my apartment, I used a solution of lemon juice and water for the initial clean. The water from the canal was dark as tea! After 12 consecutive "flushes" with just water, I still have black residue. What is this substance? Is it poisonous? I feel so defeated! Revane, have you relaxed your quality control?

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something

You get what you pay for

So you get what you pay for I get it. This is a cheap, no-frills coffee maker and it works great, but there are a few things that point to the reason for the price. The decanter is "left-handed" in the sense that when you hold it in your right hand, the measuring lines are on the other side of the glass. There is very cheap Hines plastic on the lid of the carafe, which immediately began to peel off. But here's the thing: My last coffee maker was more expensive, had more features, and just died…

Cons
  • Something else

I've had this coffee maker for a few years now and love it. It's simple - you're paying $20 so keep that in mind - but it makes a great cup of coffee from a small portion (I mostly use it for 1 travel mug in the morning). It's the perfect size (10 cups is a little generous, so I'd go for a max of 8 cups), doesn't drip or drip everywhere, is dishwasher safe, compact and holds up well. My roommate just broke a carafe by dropping it on the floor and I doubt it can be replaced so will most likely…

You get what you pay for

A few months after purchase water started leaking everywhere. Now I can't even boil a pot without half the water spilling out and spilling it all over my counter. This is really really bad as I was just looking for a cheap no frills drip coffee maker for the office. I don't need a circuit breaker, I don't need a timer or a clock or anything. Exactly what coffee does. And this coffee maker can't even do that. A quick look at other 1 star reviews shows I'm not the only one with this problem…

Nice little coffee maker

If you are looking for a simple coffee maker then this is it. It simply brews coffee and keeps it warm. Commercially available paper filters are used, which are widely available. Has a backlit on/off switch so you can tell when it's on. Easy to clean thanks to the simple design, pot and basket are dishwasher safe. One thing I do want to warn you about is that if you're impatient, you can pull out the coffee pot before it's ready for a quick snag on a drip-free cup. But when you do, you're…

Major Flaws: Leaks and the plate shatters into a black mess

The photo shows what happens when I use this coffee maker for its intended purpose. The black pulp from this coffee maker is not coffee. The same mess happens when I just make hot water. One problem is that the heating plate is made of a substance that dissolves when wet, forms a black liquid when water is dropped on it, and then also splashes when this black water is heated by heat. The second problem is that the steam from the basket condenses and flows down the edges of the coffee maker…
