Since I started using Push-to-Connect, aka Sharkbite, I wouldn't use anything else if I could avoid it. When I bought it it was a great price. I don't know what it is now and what will be, but I would definitely recommend it to any plumber, handyman, etc.

Whoever invented these things is a genius! When renovating a house with copper pipes, it is necessary to move the pipes temporarily. Cut the copper off the clean ends of the pipe, insert a piece of cross-linked polyethylene between the cut piece and you're done. Surprisingly I don't work fast, some of these have been up and running for over 2 years with no problems!

I had to replace some copper with PEX and tried to get all the materials before I started. I only needed a few shark bites when sweating out some of the details was more difficult than my skill level dictates, such as in the corners and between the floor joists surrounded by wood. But that price was too good to pass up, so I bought more than I needed for this project. But that's okay, I like to have spare parts on hand for emergencies and future projects.
