Works great. Easy to mount on the central exhaust pipe of the vacuum cleaner. Noise reduction from 80 dB to 70 dB. I'm not exactly sure how the dB scale works, but that 10dB drop makes a big difference in my garden where the center outlet of the vacuum is located.

I found this muffler to be well made and effective. In my application, I noticed (or didn't notice) a significant reduction in the noise level of our system. The holes were even and made for a snug fit. Good deal and great product.

Works like a charm. I think some people misunderstand what it's used for. If you stand next to your central vacuum, it only reduces it a little. When you hear the exhaust coming out of the house, you'll notice a big difference. I recommend getting an extra pipe to make changes if you don't want to go through the struggle of the rigging like I did.

I bought a very old Sears central vacuum from the 1970's to use in the garage for cleaning cars etc. That thing's loud enough to wake the dead. I measured around 90 dBA without the silencer and with the silencer in place it rose to 93-94 dBA. The muffler smoothed out the harshness of the noise, but overall it was just as loud. Save money if you think it will bring something positive.
