Suitable for sharpening razors but wears out quickly. The slings are very light and are therefore unlikely to make much of an impact or impression with "basic" use. If you're looking for sharp razors and don't need to keep going through multiple sessions, this is the product for you. If this is the tool you're looking for, this probably isn't your cup of tea.

I have been shaving with a straight razor for a few months now and I know the importance of loops. Shaving helps keep the edge of the blade straight, rather than shaving with a microscopically curved edge. You can definitely feel the difference between shaving before and after shaving. I would be willing to buy it again but hopefully the first one will last long enough that I don't have to.

Suitable sling for beginners. After my first 5 shaves, I quickly realized that I needed something of higher quality. I used this sling for about 4 months until they gave me something else. I'm still learning, of course, and I'm no expert, but then again I needed something better for myself sooner rather than later. Of course, your mileage may vary! This is just my experience. Learn with it and then update. You don't want to accidentally cut good stuff!

The usable length of the leather is just over 12 inches. The title states that it is 22 inches long. The description says 24 inches. The package length is given as 17 inches. There are two strips of material. One is smooth tanned leather and the other is suede. Both feel cheap due to the thin suede.
