A ball joint is an enclosed spherical bearing that connects the control arm to the steering knuckle or spindle - it is a ball-and-socket design, just like your hip, and it needs to be replaced as it wears out. A worn ball joint causes poor handling and makes it difficult or impossible to achieve an alignment, which leads to rapid tire wear. Replacing your worn ball joints gives a noticeable improvement in steering feel, handling, and safety.

Disappointing Performance and Dubious Quality

As a hesitant automotive enthusiast, I tested these Performance Parts: Shocks. To my disappointment the performance of these struts and suspension components fell far short of my expectations. The build quality proved to be quite dubious, lacking durability and reliability. Although they were greasable and boasted a coated front, the overall performance left much to be desired... Therefore, i cannot recommend these shock absorbers based on my experience..

Pros
  • Greasable and coated front.
Cons
  • Dubious build quality, underwhelming performance.

Very well done! on shock absorbers, struts and suspension

I prefer this Moog ball joint. I only installed them a few hundred miles away so time will tell if they hold up. The quality also seems top notch.

Pros
  • Ball joints
Cons
  • Not sure
