Top quality except for one thing: The inner diameter of the flashlight turns on a 5mm hexagonal thread. I just bought a longer partially threaded screw from a local hardware store, trimmed the excess threads, added some lube, reassembled, and all is good. If there was a way to deduct half a star I would. It's not a terrible problem, but it's pretty darn easy to fix.

Works great, no hassles and no modifications required. Put the filter in a vise and the tools will cut through perfectly. Maybe some other users don't understand how to use it, but don't fully tighten it and try to cut in one go. It is designed to be tightened lightly and then slowly tightened as you cut until it cuts through. Very similar to how an exhaust cutter works. With this use, it cuts through in about 1 minute. Great tool worth the money.

I chose this cutter because it is well designed and a quality product. I expected to be able to clamp the cutter in a vise and then use the filter wrench to turn the oil filter for cutting. This worked well EXCEPT for the feed mechanism to be the same width as the rail. Because they are the same width, the slider will get stuck in the vise if you try to advance it. This blade is well built and reliable, I like the fact that the bearings and blade are easy to replace. We cut 20 filters in a row, small and large, and this cutter worked flawlessly. Just operate it like a pipe cutter (without applying too much pressure and making sure the filter flange is snug against the cutters), it will cut the filters cleanly in 5-10 turns. I bought this product because I knew it needed to replace the M5 35mm bolt that came after spec, and had to drill out the top theme set to make it bulletproof (thanks to that other post). I've followed the advice of others here and made a mod simply by posting a picture to help other potential buyers see what needs to be done.
