The refill works but the included pencil makes it useless as it is so small and light it's really unreadable underwater. I went to Ace Hardware and bought a grease pencil to replace the one that came with it.

Love the fact that this tablet glows in the dark so it can be used for night diving. One downside is that it comes with a regular pencil and you need a fat pencil to write under it. It would be nice if it came to that.

This is not shown in the picture but the tablet has a buckle that allows you to detach it from the BC to show someone, the clip attaches to the D-ring of the BC remains. This is a bit easier to do with gloves on than trying to manipulate the clamp. The only downside is that immersion in water will show the pencil serious signs of failure and make it difficult to remove old notes from the slate. A great tool if you plan to dive with a new group that doesn't have much experience diving together.

Product was received as described but cleaning information was not included. My niece had this on her gift list as a new diver and when she marked on the board with the pencil provided to check, she couldn't figure out how to wipe the board clean. We searched the internet for information and found a post that suggested using the Magic Eraser to do this. Why sell a product for underwater use without a brief explanation of how to use it? Excellent product. Just received and tested in my kitchen sink. The pencil could have been better, but okay. I can confirm that Mr Clean Magic Eraser is the way to go for cleaning. Really works like magic! First I tried to clean the paper tower and soap but it didn't work, the lettering faded but was still clearly visible. Magic Eraser removed the inscription COMPLETELY, 100%. It arrived on time (2 days free shipping), The pencil was attached with a yellow HiVis ribbon. I tested the Scribbles to see the clarity and writing surface and was very happy with the quality and contrast. It has a snap closure that works well and is very easy to manipulate.
