Brand new and FAKE!

Instrument was purchased new and should be sent in for calibration. It turned out to be defective and needed repairs. This tool has never been used and was brand new out of the box. Now I have to send all my instruments to this seller and manufacturer for calibration. Don't trust the calibration certificates that come from the seller.

Pros
  • Made in USA
Cons
  • Poorly designed

Great tool for aircraft mechanics!

Great tool for aircraft mechanics. I never thought I would need 15 inches per pound of torque until I became an airplane mechanic. This tool has bi-directional torque so it can be safely used in either direction without the risk of damaging the tool. Unidirectional torque wrenches do not allow counterclockwise loosening of fasteners that have been overtorqued. Remember to adjust the torque to the minimum after each use.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

PROTO 6060A 1.3: Drive Torque Wrench 10-50 in/lb

PROTO 10-50 inch/lb torque wrench - what can I say. Super quality from a very reliable tool manufacturer. Operating range is 10-50 in/lb. Ideal for spark plugs, coils, oil pans, air intakes etc where critical torque is a must. I have 40 years in automotive and industrial mechanics. Snap On, MAC, MATCO, CDI, Williams are too expensive. This is the price for us working-class heroes. This is my third Proto Torque with different ranges. I trust proto tools. They are not there to kill your walletโ€ฆ

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Expensive

MADE IN THE USA: I can trust it since it's made in the USA

Made in the USA. I can trust it because it's made in the USA: Torque wrenches are trustworthy. Good quality wrench. 10 marks on the key to get an adjustment between 10 and 15, 15 and 20, 20 and 25, 25 and 30, 30 and 35, 35 and 40, 40 and 45, 45 and 50. For example an interval between 10, 15, the 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 marks are 5, so each mark on the wrench is 5/10 = 0.5 inch. To get 10.5 inch-pounds, simply turn the wrench to 10 and then move it a notch past 10 to get 10.5. If you wantโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure
