Great Grips: Sport

The only problem I have with these grips is putting them on the paddle. The instructions call for a 30 second soak in hot water. I followed the directions and then resoaked a few times. FAILED. I was ready to cut myself into small pieces. As a last resort, I used mineral oil on the oars and handles. Even then you have to push and turn with a lot of force. Oh, they're in the oars, they're in place, they feel good. MUCH LUCK!

Pros
  • Grips slide over your grip for the protection and comfort you've been looking for from a grip you can trust.
Cons
  • Long delivery time

comfortable grips: paddling accessory

These grips are perfect for painted oars. However, the instructions for dressing are rather optimistic. Soaking them in hot water is nowhere near enough to make them loose enough to fit paddles. I smeared the inside of the handles and oar handles with soap and then they came off fairly easily. It took some effort to get the air out, but once the oars were dry the handles seemed to be well bonded.

Pros
  • Soft and durable grip with a cushion that makes the rowing grip more comfortable when paddling.
Cons
  • All fine

They sent me two different size paddle grips, one was bigger than the other. The one that was supposed to be for my paddles with this order is perfect, but the other, the larger one, is loose, I didn't notice that in time before I cut it to fit my paddles, so I can't go back. I am very dissatisfied with it and would like to have it repaired.

Pros
  • . Comes in pairs to grab both paddles.
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

They are excellent for kayaking.

My paddle grips are 1 1/8" in diameter and these grips fit well. They were a bit longer but I cut off about 3/8" from the bottom of the grips and they fit my paddle perfectly. They are a rubberized material that doesn't slip at all when wet. I like these grips a lot more than my previous paddle grips which were foam. And it helps to soak them in hot water for about 45 seconds when trying to put them on the paddle grip.

Pros
  • The handle not only increases comfort but also protects the handle from small dents in the wood that develop over the years. Now you don't have to worry about a blister from a small dent where the paddle dropped.
Cons
  • No power
