For someone not very creative, it was nice to be able to mix and match pieces until I liked the face. The actual "carving" was very quick and the design came out very clean and precise.

Don't give your money away! Very cheaply made and not easy to use. It was made for small pumpkins and wouldn't even go all the way through. In the end I had to cut it. All used parts are bent and unusable again.

It's worth it! Carving pumpkins with 5 Cousins is now much easier! (from 2 to 12 years). Never cut with knives. Even a 2 year old can handle it! I've had a few kinks from overzealous kids, but it's easily fixed with pliers. The kids loved making the patterns!

Made some pretty rough and cool pumpkin faces last Halloween. Works as described. There are no issues to report. The pieces are strong and cut easily through the squash, but not sharp enough to cut off a finger. Obviously handle with some caution, especially with younger children. All in all, I'm glad I bought it.

We had a big party and made about 20 pumpkins. Better to have a rubber mallet or two with you. You will also need cutting tools to open the lid and a scraper to empty the intestines. They held the whole batch and only a few bent (probably due to abuse). So if you only make one or two pumpkins a year, that's enough for 10 years.

Great idea. They went through the pumpkins as they wanted them to get fatter. And they are really badly made out of very thin metal. Many of them leaned forward. I also got two identical molds, there is a set of 3 for the mouth. 2 corners and a middle where the corners are mirror images of each other, well a set of mine had to have the same corner. This wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for the thick and thin sides, one side dull and the other not.

We really liked these shapes. Three children too young to use carving knives could choose the face of their pumpkin and then take turns carving their design with a rubber mallet.
