Long length but upgrade hook to carbon steel hook

Pros - Length, durability (holds a 55lb 1 year old pit) Cons - No tools or solutions to fix sags. CHEAP hooks! I broke 1 during installation. Suggestions - Ask for Help! One person cannot install it alone! Invest in carbon steel eye hooks! Turnbuckles are also great for eliminating slack (use carbon steel for strength depending on your dog's size/strength). You can also use the included cable.

It's worth it! - Dogs

Excellent product. I bought this because my dog learned to jump through my front gate. So it was a temporary fix until I could tweak something. I liked it because I have a dog that loves to run. With 100ft of leash he was able to walk back and play with my other dog for a while. Some are easy to install, but you have to screw each side to something. It is very durable when done properly. So I keep it with me when I'm gardening or don't want my Great Pyrenees rolling in the mud.

Strong cable and pulley

Only thing worth the money is the main cable. It's durable and long. I swapped out the hooks for galvanized closed loop hooks after a hook on our 75 pound dog immediately buckled. I also added a swivel buckle when reinstalling to tighten the cord as I have a bad shoulder and installed it myself. Now that I've been through this, the pulley loves to get stuck. Our dog just stops when hit. He's trained not to pull too hard. So I have to get out and pull the cable to make the reel move again. I…

Wanted something stronger

Likes.good basic concept. The cable appears to be of good quality. You can't complain about the price. I do not like it. They assume there are trees to install screws. In Phoenix it will probably be built into a log wall. There are no instructions for this. Bought metal dowels at a hardware store. The problem is solved. NO, my dog (picture attached) pulled it out of the wall after a week. The solution, I bought a larger diameter hook and anchor. I also can't adjust the tension without…

Updated Report - Tie-Outs & Stakes

Everything about this run is positive. the quality of the materials, the length, the freedom it gives our dog to run a good distance in the garden but remain discreet. I would give it a five star rating, but the pulley gets stuck (most of the time) and limits your ability to use the full length of the barrel. We pulled it from end to end in a straight, even line with no obstacles. I don't know if this is Ora's pulley bend in the plastic cable cover, but we're annoyed that we have to keep…

Pretty good, best training and behavioral aids

I chose between this and an invisible fence to give my dog enough space to run outside. An invisible fence would have given more room to manoeuvre, but was much more expensive and difficult to install. This was relatively easy to set up, but make sure you don't set it too high as you want your dog to have freedom of movement to the left and right of the runner and not have to stay directly under them at all times. Mine is probably 6 feet off the ground in the middle and 8 feet off the ground at

Bad instructions but great product.

Several other reviews state that the roller jams immediately or shortly after installation. Well it happened to me but I found it was due to incorrect installation. The manual does NOT say so (unfortunately) but if you run the cable through the top hole of the reel it will definitely get stuck. So run the cable through the bottom hole of the reel (the side where the line attaches) and it will run smoothly. We've been using it for a few weeks now and haven't had any problems. Two people are…
