Purina Pro Plan Shredded Chicken Dogs best: Food Review

Pro Plan was recommended by our trainer years ago and is the only brand we feed. Our boy is picky about food but he loves this food and he is 12 years old and luckily he is very healthy so we think this food is the best.

Funny that one of the questions in the rating is taste. With this answer I have to trust my dogs. I asked and both told me it was delicious. They then asked if they could have ice cream as they had washed their plates. I can't disagree.

Shredded chicken mixed with dry pellets makes this a great choice for picky eaters. We struggled to find dry food that our dog would actually enjoy eating. This meal changed the rules of the game. Our pup has stopped wrinkling his nose at other foods and now enjoys his food. This is a quality product with essential vitamins and minerals, probiotics and glucosamine. The food was recommended by my vet because its nutritional value is based on science (not just what consumers think is best for their dog). My pup loves it, I love seeing dehydrated chunks of real chicken in it, but I have a problem with all the crumbs from those dehydrated chunks. I use most of my dog's daily diet for training, and while pellets are great, crumbs are clearly not the way to go. Let me be clear that unlike other dog food, this particular dog food is REAL CHICKEN! I mean you can see it bright as day, dehydrated and tattered all over, and when I say my dogs ripped it up I'm not kidding, I've never seen them kibble as crazy as they did. I usually buy the Purina Pro Plan high protein chicken and rice formula (marked in blue) but this time they were out of stock so I went with these and I'm glad I did because I think they do have found their new favorite dry mix.
