Correct Air Filter for Mazda CX5 2016

Yes, this is the right choice. When removing the old filter and installing a new one, be sure to close the filter box/housing properly.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Reliability

Looks as good as OEM

For $12, it looks as good as OEM. The same stiffness, just slightly lighter. But for a regular timely replacement, you can't go wrong! The seller asked $50 for a replacement. Save your money, do it yourself. And to save even more money, grab this one.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Really don't like it, everything is fine

Easy replacement for my Mazda 6

This filter came with no problems. It is slightly heavier than the standard filter and the pleats are more evenly distributed. The rubber grommet around the rim detaches when pulled, but otherwise fits snugly. I also had no problems with this filter, in general everything is fine.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • boring packaging

Will not fit CX-5 Signature 2.5L Turbo

I used to NEVER trust Revain's installation guide for accuracy, but it's been a while since they sent me the wrong part so I calmed down. Yes, this filter will not fit the 2019 CX-5 Signature turbocharged engine, despite Revane claiming it will. To be on the safe side, simply order it from your Mazda dealer.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

just as good as OEM but at a fraction of the cost

is perfect for my 2016.5 cx5. replaced (to be honest I felt like the air filter was fine a little longer), total cost to replace both filters was over $70! Both filters were purchased from Revain for just under $26.

Pros
  • A few competitors
Cons
  • Hard to say

Will fit but rubber grommet not fitted to filter

I had high hopes for this filter but unlike the OEM and Fram options this filter has a loose rubber grommet on the outside which can be removed. The OEM filter and Fram version have a softer firm pad and fluffier material to trap dirt and debris. While I'm sure it will work fine (it fits), the quality is lower than I expected.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Unsure

NO MORE EXPENSIVE DEALER INSTALLED FILTERS

This is a great air filter that is easy to install on my Mazda 3. No need to pay big bucks for dealer installed air filters on SkyActiv engines. This is my second Purolator for my Mazda and it does an excellent job of catching dirt and yellow pollen. Simply disconnect the four clips from the engine air filter housing, gently pull out the old one, replace the new one and reverse the process to ensure the filter housing is secure.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Empty

Didn't work on my 2016 Mazda cx5

Immediately after installing this filter and driving the car, my estimated remaining miles went wrong. Each time I accelerated, my estimated remaining miles decreased by about 3-4 miles. I don't know what caused this but after reading some other negative reviews this was an issue that others have had as well. I went to my dealer and bought a genuine OEM filter to replace and noticed that this filter has a few extra ribs and seems to be a bit thicker material so I don't know if that is the cause

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Negative gift
