I received this turntable for Christmas and it met and exceeded my expectations. This is of great importance and should last for many years with proper care. The joy of rediscovering my records and introducing my kids to the old 78s I have was wonderful. The speakers aren't bad, or you can hook it up to some modern speakers for better sound.

I've had mine for almost 2 years now. I practically did not use it and lived in an apartment. Bought a house and started collecting records again. My records, which I had noticeably slowed down before. I thought I might have mixed them up somehow. So I go out and buy brand new records and they sound like crap. It also slows down noticeably. That's when I realized that you can't save on the player. Bought a new one for Christmas. No wonder he's on the wanted list now.

This unit worked well with a couple of vinyl tracks, but then as both LPs and 45s were played all day the RPM's started to fluctuate. It slows down, goes back to the right speed, slows down a little more, goes back to the right speed, slows down, etc etc. All those speed changes can really ruin the listening experience of the recording. Also, the player would repeatedly stop before reaching the end of the recording for no apparent reason. It doesn't matter whether I set the player to…
