Best used in a shed in a terrarium Heat lamps and mats

I used this lamp for our cats in Bought from our outdoor stable. With the lights on being such a fire hazard these seemed a little safer. I matched the wattage to the red bulbs I buy for a heat lamp, but they don't seem to dissipate as much heat as these. I still plug it in and cats love to lie underneath. I would like it hotter.

Pros
  • This black ceramic heat lamp is simple and easy to install, just screw into a standard E27 threaded porcelain socket
Cons
  • Easily torn

Works but not great

Definitely not as hot as a 250W bulb. I had to turn the heat down a bit to keep my quail warm! One thing it does very well is keep my quail quiet at night! So I lowered the heat lamp two feet (the normal heat lamp was about 3 feet higher than my brooder) and I got happy, warm and calm quails. I probably wouldn't use this for anything less than two weeks old. Straight out of the incubator I don't think it will be warm enough for her.

Pros
  • Voltage: 110-120 VAC; Power: 250W; Material: Ceramic, Metal, NiCrAl
Cons
  • Volume

Burned out in 2 months.

I really wanted that. I've used it in my dog kennel to keep him warm when he's hanging out outside his house. I tried 100w first which didn't work so I switched to 250w. Better! He was a happy dog until this morning when I walked in there and found he wasn't working anymore. So early! I've read that they don't last that long, but I was REALLY hoping it would last until the cold nights were over. It's supposed to be 27 tonight so now I'll have to do my best to find something to keep him warm.

Pros
  • Customer Service: If the lamp life does not reach 3000 hours, you can contact us for a free replacement or a full refund.
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
