🔍 10X Hasting Triplet Folding Jewelers Loupe Pocket Magnifier by Quality Optics USA Review

I have purchased a dozen of this item as gifts. Unfortunately, the enlargement does not match the description. Definitely not 10x, more like 5x. The lens size and handling was very convenient for viewing small objects.

It was too much for what was exactly as described. I use it to check my houseplants for pests. The different magnification levels are very helpful. I also like the small size because you can get as close as you need without the lens getting in the way of the plant like larger magnifiers do.

Having had very good (expensive) Hasting triplets in the past I was very hesitant to buy these for my very picky son who wanted a good loupe for his numismatic hobby. He tried several other loops and gave them up. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something he wouldn't like so we tried this loupe, 10 x 21 Hasting Triplet. The optical quality is actually pretty good and the frame feels solid. I didn't notice any chromatic aberrations and the glass was very clear. We'll see how it performs

Giant folding magnifier which is over 6" long when open and the cover/handle is approximately 36mm or 1.38" thick. When closed, it measures 3.66 inches by 2.37 inches by 1.38 inches. In my opinion too big to fit comfortably in your pocket. The free opening is about 46 mm. Definitely NOT a 10x magnification compared to the Belomo 10x Hastings Triplet Loupe, but not as much over the top performance as many Chinese made loupes claim. , Much narrower magnification than the Carson LumiLoupe 5X…
