The filter fitted perfectly but the sensor didn't. I was able to keep using the old sensor, but the sensor was one of the reasons I bought it, hence the 4 stars.

At first the box looked like it had been run through a dryer, smashed by a truck, ripped open and taped back together. The filter looks new, but the claimed sensor is NOT. If you need this filter, get it from someone else!

The filter I received must be used. There was rust on it when it was unpacked, a piece of paint broke off at the bottom, there was a micro-crack on the inside. By the time I had time to put it on, the return window had closed. So for the time being I just used my original.

Filter was as listed and worked with no problems. You will need an allen wrench to remove the plug and a wrench to install the sensor. After the reinstallation there were no leaks and we are back to work. DO NOT pump back fuel to fill the filter before starting the outboard.

Fits my 2002 Mercury 2.5L EFI 200hp. I've been using silver fast acting fuel filters since I've owned my boat for 14 years with no issues or problems. The filter comes with a blue sensor that screws into the ground. I will continue to buy Fast Silver products for my engine as I believe they are as good or equal to OEM.

Just what I needed for my old Mercury Optimax outboard. At first I was concerned about the ease of changing this. If you have a cheap strap wrench, it's pretty easy. When you do this for the first time, the cable simply unplugs from the blue connector below. Place a towel under the filter to catch any spilled fuel and fill the filter with some fuel before reinstalling. I bought a used boat that hasn't been changed in a few years and after seeing the horrible things the filter picks up I believe
