Sturdy and secure on gates and gate extensions

I have draft horses and use this latch as extra security for a standard gate latch, do yourself a favor and ditch the shackle provided and buy a forged one I bolt. which is made for hanging hammocks and is rated for 1000 pounds. With this combination you have a reliable escape gate.

Much more powerful than it appears on the list.

This thing is a lot more solid than it looks on the Revain list. I had to drill a small pilot hole to get the U-Bracket to drive in. I am a woman over 50 years old. But it's internal, it's dense and strong. And so easy for us to use. Call it a win.

They seem to be doing their job.

Disappointed that it is made in China and not New Zealand or the USA. Angles have been added to the original smooth curve. The quality was also worse, but it still seems to get the job done, if not as pleasant to the touch. Next time I'll try to find ones made in New Zealand marked "Gallagher". It looks like they are operational. I'm skeptical of the corners as they will add a less effective anti-gravity aspect.

The best! Best in Gates and Gate Extenders

Best pasture gate latch I have ever used. Easy to use with one hand. Precise measurements as with snap closures are not required. A very strong chain and latch that can withstand high winds and cows rubbing against the gate. We also use this latch to keep dogs in a fenced backyard. I have been using these locks for over 20 years. Nothing at any price has also worked. The only downside is that the screw was a half inch shorter when drilled into our heavier gates which required a 2 1/2 inch…

The only bar I will use with horses.

This bar is known to me as a kiwi bar. It used to be sold locally but not anymore. It doesn't freeze when the post moves, you can still use it, horses can't open it (not even our local Houdini), easy to use with one hand, very difficult to break. This model also came with a decent chain. We do not use the supplied U-bolts, but rather strong eyelets. To use the latch, simply insert it directly into the eyelet to latch the gate. To open, flip the ring up and lift. Very easy. I've seen horses hit…
