Corkscrew Metrokane

The corkscrew looks sturdy and feels good in the hand. The velvety finish on the handle already had a few spots on the signs of use, which I noticed just a few minutes after unpacking. I don't think the finish will make much of a difference anyway. Good two-stage function for long or artificial corkscrews. The connection is tight but I'm sure it will loosen over time. It feels like it should last a while.

I've used several corkscrews and consider this version of the waiter's corkscrew design to be one of the best. It's high quality and has an additional feature not found on others - 'two-stage' - which allows you to pull out longer plugs while maintaining the right angle. This feature is also useful for artificial corks, which are now more common and tend to be reluctant to leave the bottle. The quality of this corkscrew is such that it will make a very good gift.

Of course, for a cheaper plastic "slide" this cuts like clockwork. Since I lost my last screw and the closest Revain replacement back then was only available without a serration, this double spigot was the next best budget tool. Nevertheless, this does not seem to be the…
