Great space saver - glad we have them.

First, we did our research and selected this two-piece ceiling mount from Racor Bike Rack Lifts as our best bike mount. It was relatively easy for my husband, who is an engineer, to install the brackets on our garage ceiling and the bikes were easy to lift and remove. Now, for the first time since we bought our current home 14 years ago, I can also park my car in our 2 car garage.

Excellent design and quality

With three engineering degrees I like the design of this product for the price. The instructions are clear and include sketches, while the instructions show mounting on parallel beams, the lift assemblies also have holes for side beams; and while I liked the included screws, I also used external screws in the side holes. The pulleys are positioned to provide maximum buoyancy (photos 2 and 3) and the included rope is more than adequate (photo 4). I highly recommend.

Fits great on my bikes

Love this item. I took two boxes and put them side by side. A road bike and a mountain bike. Works how I needed it. You must keep them level as you lift them, otherwise one end may stick out higher than the other. Some reviewers have mentioned issues with the locking mechanism, but mine works fine. I suspect that the locking pin that pushes into the cable might wear it down over time, but there's so much cable that I just tug on it and it'll be like new again. Have a small square back, greatโ€ฆ

They work but the clamping system is really not very good

I installed two of these and they work. Actually, I have no problem with the supplied hardware. It's not the best, but I don't use them on my heavier mountain bike, so they seem to fit road bikes and such. My biggest problem is the traction system. It's really quite picky. The two pulleys don't move coaxially, so you're always pushing higher in the front or the back. Whether he has a bike or not. The hooks for holding the bike aren't the greatest either. They're more or less straight hooks andโ€ฆ

Very important! No instructions but no more complicated than IKEA

The purchase was successful. My order came with two racks. There were no instructions so I had to look carefully at other pictures. We hung ours at the top of the stairwell, it's definitely a bit spooky but we love using that space since we have a small house. We had to use (2) 3/4 inch x 50 foot rope since we were doing it on a high stairwell (so if you think about it, it's possible!). We installed the brackets 20 inches from the narrow wall. and 12 inches on each side of the long walls of the

Get your seat back in 30 minutes or less

Two bike lifts arrived and are operational in about an hour! Space is very important to us, and our bikes took up most of the covered porch. I have read reviews of several products and this seems to be the best. I have found that the quality of the product is critical to the light weight it needs to hold. The instructions were very clear and not in converted English. Other reviews were critical of the cord, but I found the paracord more than satisfactory. The ceilings in our garage are 9ft 6inโ€ฆ

Easy to assemble and install

My ceiling joist was perpendicular to the photo so I used a simple 1"x4" which is more than enough to secure the bike hardware. My bikes weigh about 30 pounds so getting on and off was not a problem. My front pulley tended to go up first when booting, so I just grabbed the front wheel to straighten the bike a bit as I jacked it up. I agree with others that the locking mechanism (the metal tab that pushes against the rope to stop it) will likely wear down the rope over time. Make sure you pullโ€ฆ
