I have several Baofengs radios and cables. Some of them are good and some are not. This one from Radioddity is one of the best. Well constructed with good positive links. My computer found the chip straight away and it worked the first time! Works on most Baofeng handhelds except DMR series which have built-in Com chip. Good deal by Revain & Radioddity with very fast shipping.

The first cable didn't want to connect the radio to chirp on the computer. My friend who programmed dozens of Baofeng UV-5R radios couldn't get them to work on his computer either. UPDATE: After I posted the above review, the seller contacted me and wanted to send me another cable. Got the cable but haven't tried it yet. It's nice when the seller is willing to fix everything.

Trying to update to the latest software version. After downloading the version I was given. After resetting the radio the splash screen said baufang instead of radioddity and defaulted to low power when it should be high. I have contacted support more times than I care, sent photos and they respond with more questions. Not very happy with my purchase out of the box.

I purchased this cable after recently purchasing a Radioddity UV-5R EX and noticing that the Baofeng cable that I have with my other Baofengs use, does not work with the radio. I filled out the customer support form on the Radioddity website, but the only contact I received was an email asking if I was happy with the support form. Not happy with radioddity or radio. The cable works with my other radios but not the one I bought it for.

I have bought and built many level shifters of this type for my radios, but this one only works when used with the Prolific 3.2.0.0 driver. Download the driver on Windows 10. I have used it with Jingtong, Wouxun, Baofeng and Chirp software and the cable worked first time and every time on every radio. This cable works well after installing the correct drivers. The link provided by the seller in the description is broken so I had to google radioddity website and snoop around to find the correct drivers for windows 10. You need to connect the cable, go into the device manager and look for an unknown USB device that has a yellow sticker attached. You need to uninstall it, then unplug the cable and install the downloaded drivers, then plug the cable back in and Windows will see it properly…

I ordered a Baofeng 88A. It works fine for me, except the range in my area is not the same as the description, like 1-2km. Instead, it's about 500 meters. Vevina is their customer service rep and helped me understand the cause and the solutions he/she can offer. I will not hesitate to order from Radioddity seller again because they really support their product and always give you a good solution if you are not satisfied with something. It worked a few times until Microsoft realized it wasn't a signed driver I think. then it just gave me a popup saying USB device keeps failing. No drivers reset the pc with regedit or everything I've tried doesn't work. Tried on multiple computers with Windows 10, the result is the same. after it failed on my main computer. Device is defective? Now my B-tech uv-5x3 is in a state where I only have two of the three bands left and won't be able to program it until I get another cable in the mail…

Very good cable, programming the radio is easy. Be sure to follow the instructions and try to connect while your computer is trying to communicate with the radio and you won't have any problems.
