Rancho RS5000 in Parts

I used these shocks on a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac with a 2" TT and rear assist spring. The difference they made in riding was astronomical. From a bouncy, unruly car to a stable stable truck Thanks Revane!

  • Consistent Test Results
Cons
  • No Performance

Great shocks - great price

Bought these shocks to replace worn out ones on my old Ford Explorer. Installation was easy to do. The ride with these shock absorbers is significantly improved over the original shock absorbers. I am very happy with them. Price was great on Revain.

It would be nice if it was preinstalled

The rubber boot was a real slut to overcome the shock end. It would be nice if it was preinstalled. There isn't much room for a wrench to keep the shock from rotating when you tighten the top nut. Everything else is fine. Pretty easy to install and they work great.

  • Always liked

You fixed my problem.

Rancho shocks solved my problem with my 2001 Mercury Mountaineer. My problem was that I almost lost control of my truck when I hit bumps on a corner. Pros
  • Feel good
Cons
  • Style 90

Not as much damping as I would like

This is the third brand of damper I have tried on my 95 Explorer Sport. They all feel underdamped and have more body movement through corners and bumps than I would like. One feature that contributed to the early replacement of the Monroe SensaTracs that preceded these is that I had a 1" body lift and wanted a damper that would allow a few inches more clearance between the mounts (body lift + slightly higher springs) . the need for a "raised truck" design. The Rancho is good at listing the…
