Description of πŸ”§ RS55274 RS5000X Shock Absorber by Rancho

IMPROVED HANDLING AND PERFORMANCE -- Cross Tuned technology featuring exclusive rebound valving system and advanced compression phase improves overall handling and performance on and off road. MINIMIZES ROUGH RIDE -- Exclusive Progressive Engagement Valving is custom-tuned for each vehicle to help reduce initial impacts at low speeds and minimizes a rough ride. STRONG AND DURABLE -- Features a 16mm nitro-carburized piston rod to resist scuffs & corrosion, double-welded loops at stress areas, 35mm sintered iron piston for enhanced structural integrity and polyvinyl protective boot. HANDLES EXTREME TEMPERATURE CHANGES -- Large twin-tube body filled with all-weather fluid allows for cooler operation, increased vehicle control and ability to withstand internal temperatures of -40 to 248Β°F. SMOOTH PERFORMANCE -- Polyurethane rebound bumper and rubber bushings help absorb ride harshness while the fluon-banded piston enhances responsiveness to changing road conditions for an overall smoother ride. REDUCES FADE -- Nitrogen gas pressurized to 150 PSI to minimize air-to-oil mixture to reduce damping performance fade and foaming. MAINTAINS VEHICLE CONTROL -- Compression Control Valve is custom-tuned for each vehicle to regulate fluid transfer to absorb impacts without disc flutter and help maintain shock motion control. BUILT TO LAST -- Low-friction, self-lubricating seal retains gas and oil for quicker rebound and smoother compression while the application-specific piston delivers heightened control of shock motion due to the expanded piston area.

Excellent Performance, Reliable Quality!

Based on my experience, this shock absorber offers amazing handling and stability. The improved shock valving is also a plus for better ride control. The only downside is that it may be a bit pricey for some buyers. Nonetheless, this product delivers the quality that I expect from this brand.

Pros
  • Provides a comfortable and stable ride in both on-road and off-road conditions, thanks to the advanced damping technology
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Significant Improvement: Shock and Vibration Control

I have a 3/4 4x4 flatbed pickup that I've had trouble with the bike to jump on gravel roads. These shock absorbers solved this problem. Ride and handling have also improved. I'll do a setup soon. Time will tell if life expectancy is good.

Pros
  • REDUCED PURGE - Nitrogen gas at up to 150psi to minimize air/oil mixing, damping and foaming
Cons
  • Great Price

Don't buy them if you don't like being disappointed.

I was really looking forward to new dampers, especially the famous Rancho dampers, but once I installed them I was utterly disappointed. I'd say you're better off with worn out shock absorbers than buying them if you don't want the fillings popping out of your teeth. Actually, I should have chosen Bilstein, Monroe or even AC Delco. Worst of all I can't even return them and even Goodwill won't even take them and they don't take anything.

Pros
  • REDUCES DRIVING CONDITIONS -- Exclusive progressive engagement valves are individually tuned for each vehicle to reduce initial low-speed bumps and minimize road bumps.
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
