Works great but make sure you have longer screws!

This starter has a thicker flange and you need longer screws or you pull the threads out of the bell housing. The starter will work after installing longer bolts.

Pros
  • Starters and alternators
Cons
  • Non-automatic

An unbeatable price. The Coast Guard has agreed.

The perfect upgrade to replace your old heavy duty starter. I installed this on my 1978 OMC 240h Ford 351. Lighter and easier to install than the old heavy one. The engine revs up quickly, is easy to start and is Coast Guard approved.

Cons
  • Some Little Things

The starter came up as expected, but the play is low.

The starter fitted well but the small tab on the silo node was loose on the inside so I had to remove the starter several times for troubleshooting. After figuring out what the problem was, I finally got it working. I would have sent it back but didn't want to pay shipping costs.

Pros
  • Starter
Cons
  • unreliable

To be too good to be true. I bought this scrap

for my 351w. The engine started 4 times. He sat there preparing for winter and didn't understand. I called the warranty service, but there was no result. Not even a year warranty. I'm through $59 away. The starter is bad and not reliable. It was never wet or used in water and broke down during winter service. Spend your money and buy an Arco or Sierra starter.
