Quiet but the backlight isn't the best for a programmer

The box says "for gamers by gamers" but I'm a programmer not a gamer. Love it but too noisy for my wife as I work from home. I chose this keyboard because they had sound samples on their website so I had a good idea before I paid that much that it would be quieter. It's MUCH quieter than Cherry, which is what I was hoping for. O-rings are of little help. My wife is also much happier. The downside is that the moved function isn't highlighted on the keys. The first picture shows the backlit…

Great compact mechanical keyboard

This is my first mechanical keyboard purchase after being highly recommended by a friend who owns a Razer Ultimate. I used mechanical keyboards 20 years ago when I first got involved with computers and the key clicks were mesmerizing; and over time silent keyboards came into my life and became the norm. I think it's a very well made keyboard and the keys are backlit and responsive. I use it mostly for office work and sometimes for gaming. I type fast, and some of the keyboards I've used in the…

  • Big selection

  • Infinitely slow

A misleading keyword I would use to better describe this RAZER BlackWidow Lite TKL keyboard. Photo: Comparison of low-profile keyboards (HAVIT HV) - KB390L on the left, Tecware Phantom L in the middle and RAZER BlackWidow Lite TKL on the sides on the right) Low-profile, this is clearly not the case. The deck is one of the tallest, low-profile keyboards I've come across and comes with full-size orange (or brown) switches. So the only unremarkable thing about this keyboard is the keycaps, which…

Great keyboard in every way

Really great keyboard in every way. The price is great (I bought it for $60), the design is clean and not overly personal, which is welcomed by Razer, the build quality is solid, and I'm pretty happy with the switches. The lettering looks very clean on the keyboard and the backlighting is just right, neither too bright nor too soft. While the keyboard material appears to be mostly plastic, it still has a nice texture and premium feel. These orange Razer switches (brown counterpart) are…

Inexpensive TKL Basic Mechanical Keyboard

Warning: I'm not a gamer, I'm a programmer. who loves mechanical keyboards. Pros (for me) - Pretty nice keyboard font. - Tactile but non-clicking switches (similar to Cherry Browns) - Quiet, especially with O-rings installed. This keyboard could be a good option for an office where noise is an issue. - O-rings are included (you need to install them yourself) - Beautiful white backlight - When caps lock is on, caps lock turns green - Key switches claim exceptional durability. Cons: - Cheap short

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Useless features

Overall a good affordable TKL, but not entirely quiet.

I bought this keyboard hoping for a quiet keyboard for my work environment. The workmanship of the keyboard and cable is good, the functionality is basically good, but the claimed silence is not really. I have experience with mass-produced mechanical keyboards and silent switches and know what contributes to the noise when setting up a mechanical keyboard. The Razer Orange switches used here are comparable to Cherry MX Brown or Gateron Brown switches in terms of both feel and noise levels. The…
