Razor Chroma has square pins, may need to crimp JST SM 4 pins/tools

The pin headers on the Razer Chroma controller use square pins, the socket I had on my Phanteks LEDs was for round pins . The controller works perfectly, it even launches the installer when you plug in the device, which is great. For my application I had a crimp kit that I used for my 3D printer (Dupont JST SM 4 pin connector) so I made a compatible connection on the end of my LED strip and used the polarity protection pin hole with it Filled with epoxy putty. . It would be nice if mfg listed…

Exactly what I've been looking for and waiting since 2016

I've been looking for years for a good RGB controller that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and this one fits the bill perfectly. I have quite a few Razor RGB products that I've bought over the years and having them all synced together in one program makes things a lot easier. I'm a big fan of how easy synapses work with iCUE. Synapses weren't always good, and they still aren't. For example, like the Razor Firefly mousepad not working on the old Synapse version and blue static flickering on the…

Still struggling with this

I'm a computer engineer trying to make my own setup. So take my feedback accordingly. The documentation for this seems pretty weak. Technical documentation for this is practically non-existent. "Setup" assumes you have strips made specifically to work with the controller. It is said to work with aRGB and some other standards (WS2812B). I ran into an issue where the only way to get the LEDs to glow is to toggle between another device in Synapse 3.0 and the Accessories tab. All LEDs light green…

the best and the worst

So this thing is great in many ways and brings some much needed unification to the RGB computer. Overall I think it's great and it does exactly what it's designed to do. so why 3 stars? The design makes the already terrible Argb pin/connector design even WORSE. The pins are set deep into the case and there's something wrong with the spacing because it's almost impossible to get the plugs in properly and then they're pretty damn loose. So if you hit your tower, chances are you'll have to…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design

Good idea, bad try

I have many, many Argb devices in my setup and had high hopes that it was worth it, at least to some extent. Firstly, if it isn't apparent from other reviews, 3-pin Argb headers are extremely difficult to connect to this device. You can't seem to get it to line up most of the time, and when it does, sometimes you can't tell. I have some plugs that are more recessed and I can't plug them in at all. Second, the device must be running Razer software for Argb control to work. It doesn't save what…

Nearly perfect. fits accessories and consumables

I wanted a branded ARGB controller, not Corsair, and it made my list. The software, as much as I love it, Razer Bloatware is really helpful here. You can customize your lighting schemes with an incredible amount of detail, it's really overwhelming at first. You can also go online and download custom lighting effects created by other people. The slots that the ARGB is inserted into make them solid and not easily knocked down by a punch. The only thing I have is that your lighting profile is not…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Great controller but with some flaws

I loved this controller after watching the reviews on YouTube. I installed it straight away, booted up my computer and was happy to install the Chroma software to start customizing my RGB. The software is great with many options to customize and sync your RGB. I have an MSI Gaming Edge Wifi motherboard and had no problem syncing it with Mystic Light. However, one major downside that I haven't mentioned at all is when you turn off your computer. The controller changes your RGB settings, randomly

  • Durable finish

  • Damaged

HOT BOITING GARBAGE

This is perhaps one of the biggest wastes of money I've ever spent on Revain. $40 for a glorified light switch that needs constant monitoring to make sure it's working is ridiculous. Hidden in this rectangular piece of e-waste is a set of the thinnest LED connectors I've ever had the misfortune to connect. You can never be sure that they will just come loose before you connect the pins. As far as I can tell, there's plenty of room to keep the wreckage from ripping off, considering they can't…
