right size for elbows too small for knees

Pretty much what the title says. My son just turned 5 and is interested in skating and shaving scooters thought it would work.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Something different

Too tight for a 5 year old

Bought this for my 5 year old grandson who has fairly skinny legs. The knee pads were so tight they made dents in his skin. I had to buy new ones at the store.

Pros
  • Great overall specs
Cons
  • Fits

It could be better. - Cycling

Good product but 3 stars because kids outgrow it very quickly - this makes the elastics too tight and uncomfortable for the kid. Even in winter, it would have to be worn over clothing, which would further complicate the task. Adjustable straps would be a good option.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Great product - cycling

When my 2 1/2 got the leg board I was looking for elbow and knee pads that would fit the little one and not make him a live commercial for a kids tv Now he is 3 years old, they still fit him and he knows how to put them on almost unaided. I will buy one for his younger brother.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Easy maintainability

Too small for a child - must be a toddler

This is for a child under 8 and they can barely buckle my almost 5 year old and he is skinny! They should be listed as toddler size, not child size. I also don't like that there isn't anything that easily indicates which is for the elbows and which is for the knees. There should be light markings for children.

Cycling is better with no knee scrapes

When my son got a Razor scooter from his grandparents I bought it to carry around. My little daredevil immediately took him down the hill and pushed him to the limit. Bandages not only protected him from scratches, he also liked wearing them, he thought they were cool. They gave him confidence. They also sit well over jeans and jackets and don't slip.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Not very strong product

After a few uses, 2 problems emerged: (1) the elastic stretches very easily, making it uncomfortable; and (2) one of the knee pads has broken (ie the plastic protective cover has separated from the rest of the knee pad). It's not worth the low cost so I would recommend that you pay the extra money and invest in better protective gear.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Speed

Agree with others - too small for 5+

I have read in other reviews that this product is too small for 5+. I bought the next size up and it floated on my 5 year old and I was worried they wouldn't stay in place and actually protect her so I ordered them anyway, thinking the other 5 year olds might bigger were children (my daughter is petite). However, when I put them on, I can't even get the velcro on their elbows or knees. That leaves me with a choice: somehow get a velcro extension for it or go back to the 8+ packaging that…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No automatic
