Not powerful enough to trim dog's nails unless perhaps you have a tiny, tiny dog. I have Shetland Sheepdogs, and this grinder didn't do a thing. I have gone back to my Dremel which does a great job. I'm out the money just to try this one.

Pros
  • My pit tolerates this and it's much better than using a blade trimmer. Just takes a bit longer.
Cons
  • Takes way to long to use to be useful

Good, not great. good for me

The product is good, but there are two main problems:1. My small dog fears is at much as clippers.2. It's not very powerful - my larger dog's nails stop the motor before it can make any progress.I want to be clear that it's not a bad product, but that it's not suitable for all pets. I give 3 stars just because I believe it should marketed only for dogs of certain sizes and temperaments.

Pros
  • Safe and effective for long-term use
Cons
  • Penetrating the quick with the grinder may cause bleeding

Gentle, Safe, and Efective for Your Pet's Nails

This pet nail grinder is everything the company says it is. It's extremely quiet, gentle on the pet, and most of all, safe. My little Pomeranian is still acclimating to it, but I managed to get two of her nails done. I look forward to using this regularly and will happily throw my pet nail trimmers away.I found that very little pressure is needed to actually start grinding away at the nail. If too much pressure is applied, then it becomes uncomfortable and too warm for the pet. Be sure to…

Pros
  • An affordable alternative to expensive grooming services
Cons
  • Can cause irritation or skin damage if used too aggressively

Motor not strong enough to grind nail of a 10lb Pomeranian

This was a major disappointment. I suspected it might not work very well on my Great Dane's thick nails, but not working on my 10lb Pomeranian was ridiculous! Applying even the slightest bit of pressure when making contact with the nail on the grinding stone made the motor slow to a halt. Very disappointed for spending >$20 for this. It is definitely NOT worth the money.

Pros
  • Adjustable safety guard to prevent accidents
Cons
  • Can leave a rough edge that requires filing

Dog finally OK with having her nails done

Have been using Dremel for a very long time, and our dogs always really disliked having me do their nails. Got this, and our Standard Poodle just lays back and lets me do her nails. It's quiet, seems to operate with a smoother filing, much less vibrations, so very acceptable to her. I like simply plugging into a computer to charge it, and the charge lasts for a long time. Easy to hold and use. Well done!

Pros
  • Save time and money in the long run
Cons
  • May not work well on extremely curved nails

and our dog handled it like a champ

We have a 3 month old yellow lab, who is absolutely the sweetest thing! We were told to manage his claws once per week, and we were dreading it. However, this product sold me on a lot of features (USB charging, mute sound, diamond burr). We just used the grinder, and our dog handled it like a champ! Of course there were a few whines, but no major writhing/squirming trying to get out of the way. We were very impressed. I did follow the instructions, and really only focused on trimming the nails…

Pros
  • Reduces the risk of overcutting
Cons
  • Might not be suitable for all breeds of animals

I really like this grinder

I work in a grooming salon and grind a lot of dogs nails daily. I got this for myself because the nail grinder at my work died, I really like this grinder! It is quiet{Which is great for puppies or dogs who are afraid of the noise dremels/grinders usually make} and works well once fully charged. All of my co-workers use it too and prefer it over their own, one of my co-workers really loves that is comes with a diamond bit grinder, which helps get the nails really smooth. It works best on…

Pros
  • Ideal for pets with thick nails
Cons
  • Can emit a burning smell if used for too long

Nail grinder works really well. If only I had some way to latch my pooches down like at the groomers to get the job done. I'm hoping after a monthly trim they'll get used to it and it'll be easier to do at home. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Pros
  • Prevents your pet from developing ingrown nails
Cons
  • Grinding can produce a burning smell that may be unpleasant to some
