Compared to Oatey 95/5, I will use it above. I've struggled a lot in recent years and felt the lead was lost on everything. The slightest amount of steam in a new product has a negative effect on the feeling of perspiration. This product seems to solve that problem. Used it on a few renovations around the house and had no problems compared to Oatey. It seemed to clean up better and more black crap was being pushed out of the old pipes.
I had major problems soldering copper fittings. I used Home Depot (California) flux. I risked it and it saves a life. Haven't had a single bad connection yet. I'm guessing it's either state or federal toxin restrictions that it's no longer in stores here. If your solder joints aren't working as well as they used to, buy this and ditch your old stuff.
For one reason or another I have to make a lot of copper tubing. I've always liked the traditional oil based flux and wasn't keen on any of the water soluble fluxes. But I tried and I'm so glad I did. He is a pleasure to work with and I wish I had known 20 years ago! I will never use any other flux again! It contains (lead-free) solder powder, so you get a pre-tinning with cleaning and fluxing action. The last job I did was 50 solder joints - none of them leaking. If you're a hobbyist, you'llβ¦
