For over 40 years I have made handmade knives for a living. All along I've used wet or dry silicon carbide sandpaper on my disc sanders, and used it for hand sanding as well. I've only been using wet Rino for a few months and it holds at least 3 to 1 silicon carbide. I'm having a hard time with leftover silicon carbide because I know I need to use a different sheet. This product saved me time and money.

This is specific to #220 in 9x11 inch arcs. I wasn't sure how this compares to my 3M "gold standard" for wet/dry grinding. In particular, I was concerned about aluminum oxide versus 3M silicon carbide. It turned out that my fears were unfounded. Sheets are more brittle and break easily when folded (or bent) on a sanding block. The scratch pattern left is more noticeable than that of silicon carbide paper - Rhynowet looks "scratchy".
