What a bug - hardware

Nonsense, what a pain to lock and unlock. Now that I've finally figured out how to block them, unblocking them won't be too difficult. Yesterday I went insane trying to unhitch my boat trailer from my truck. I had to hit it with a hammer. Garbage!

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Too small for big trailers.

I bought this last fall and thought it would fit my new 24 inch box trailer when it arrived but it didn't. Obviously I didn't read the reviews carefully enough (or didn't read them at all) before buying. Don't make the same mistake as me.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Clarity

save your money . . this is absolute rubbish

This thing is absolute rubbish. A pin that is pulled out of the side where it is to be attached on the third use. The thing is absolute garbage. The pin is attached to the permanent side by nothing more than friction wedging.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Minor problems

The trip is almost cancelled!

I bought this lock for its security features. I got ready to go. The lock was stuck and would not open. After standing in the rain for 45 minutes trying to unlock the hitch, it finally opened. I wouldn't risk it if it happened again so I'm sending the lock back. Also, this was the second lock I ordered. The first one was also difficult to open.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Unreliable

REMOVE WASTE - wouldn't open

The lock wouldn't open so I couldn't move my trailer. No amount of greasing, key shaking, prying, or tapping is going to open this crap. I had to cut it off with a grinding wheel (which took a few minutes). professional? I do not think so! That is trash! By the way, it stood in my caravan for about 6 months with a protective cover. Pure trash from Reese. I'll say it again, PURE SHIT!

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Socket required

Lowered ball joint

Not only did the ball bearing fall out as soon as I opened the lock, but the hole was also too small for my pendant. I'll have to take a look at my trailer and see if I can squeeze the hitch latch closer for these locks to work. If it works, I'll send it back for an exchange. If not, I'll send it back for a refund. I like the lock/key type, it uses a square key, it's harder to pick. I wish it fits.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Bad experience

A lock is installed on the trailer and a rubber cap is even put on the keyhole that comes with the kit. Was on the trailer for 4 weeks, went to unlock and the lock was taken over. I had to spray some wd40 on it and hit it with a hammer to open it. Uploaded the same thing again a week later. There was no graphite, I thought it was new and there would be no problems. But I did. Stick with a padlock and you'll have better luck picking it when you need it. Oh by the way, it was 55 degrees without…

Pros
  • High quality assembly
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

A small fork with only a rare chance of actually landing.

This is a great lock, well built and very strong, probably the best fork lock you can buy. So why can 3 stars span a maximum of 3/4 inch? This means it won't fit in about 1/2 of all staples or less. For some yes, but your chance is probably less than 50/50. How do you know? Measure your fork and if it's larger than 3/4 inch, but even 1/64, you're out of luck. Use vernier calipers if you have one, but a tape measure will work too. Just remember that there is no room for error. It sucks to be…
