Reese Towpower 74377 Pod Brake Control: Efficient Black Trailer Brake System Review

I purchased a Reese Towpower based on previous reviews and price. I have brake controllers in four other cars and love this one. I never tow more than two axes (other than my F350) and this controller works great in my Excursion. Great purchase - will buy more if needed.

I ordered this for my husband, a 2002 2500 Chevy Silverado. He seems to like it a lot. We had to order an adapter (Tekonsha 3025-P Brake Control Wiring Adapter for GM) which worked great. It had a quick and easy install with both products.

Very easy to assemble. One thing to know when installing is that it doesn't give you any indication that it's working until you plug in the trailer. Otherwise it looks the same as when unplugged. I spent hours trying to figure out what was wrong and why nothing happened. I checked all the contacts on the controller, everything seems fine. I had to turn on the trailer to see what was going on. Just remember that you won't notice anything until you plug in the trailer.

I specifically ordered this unit because it needs to be plug and play with my Nissan Frontier. I read ALL the reviews and questions and I was pretty sure this device should connect and work. Instead of a wiring harness that fits my truck, it arrived with just pigtails (no connector at all). There were breaks in the wires, which appeared to be related to a plug that had been attached to it at some point in the past and later removed.
