and it is as good or better than any of my others

This is my 3D refractometer and it is as good or better than any of my others. Excellent value for money and quality. I particularly like the multiscale display.

Works well. Easy to read.

As far as I can tell it works as advertised. It's easy to read. I've only had a chance to use it once other than to play with it. Very good product for the price.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • No insurance

Pretty good! for chemical analyzers

Arrived quickly and well packaged! The instructions were simple and easy to follow! Great price and so far it does what I bought it for! Tell me if my honey is less than 20% water and ready to drink!

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • thin

Ideal for beekeepers

Use it for honey during extraction. Appears to be straight out of the box. I tested some honey with the cap on and got a reading of around 16.5% and also tested some honey with the cap off and showed 18-19%. I would recommend this product as a beekeeper

Equipment Required for Honey Processing

This refractometer is supplied with a solution to zero to the correct setting. It's very easy. It was nice to know that some of my unpackaged honey was at 17% and ready to be harvested. Save precious time by doing all my frames at once and my bees' efforts to close them. Has a zinc pouch for storage, comes with several drippers and good instructions. For the price and the 2 seconds it takes to test your honey, it's worth considering that my honey doesn't go bad with too much water. Don't let…

Nice tool but bad instructions.

For measuring the water content of honey. Seemed to work fine. However, the instructions on how to calibrate are not clear. The instructions state that blue and white "must match exactly on a standard scale". I interpreted this as a centerline calibration. But you won't get that far. (I hope I didn't damage it!) Only after reading the vial of the standard solution does it say 65%. It probably was before I screwed it up. So not sure if that is correct now due to temperature etc. Also there are…

Pros
  • Measuring device for analyzing substances
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

I use this to measure the moisture content of honey. I tested it with calibration drops first and it was just under 65. I might not have needed to adjust it, but I did. The percentage is easy to read and the refractometer is easy to use. I was concerned that my honey was too wet and would spoil (ferment). I borrowed a tool a few weeks ago and the honey showed 20+%. So I poured it into a large metal bowl and put it in the oven with just the lights on for a couple of days. When this tool arrived…
