Love this meter. The previous one had a maximum Brix of 30, this one goes up to 40. The screen is sharp and not blurry at all and I like the box. Hope it lasts long. I use it to test the brix of home grown fruit.

This refractometer is capable of higher refractometer readings than most beer refractometers, allowing it to be used for heavier beverages such as wine and strong mead. However, I have only used the Brix scale here and ignored the other scale related to "degree of alcohol". My review. One of the pins holding the clear plastic cover to the hinge was slightly loose and tended to slip out when the refractometer was held sideways; A dab of super glue fixed it and I was very happy with this product.
