Stop wasting seasoning! in Test, Measure & Inspect

The refractometer arrived very quickly and in perfect condition. The case is extremely durable and houses the device nicely and snugly with the help of molded foam. The instructions that come with it are very easy to understand, the calibration takes only a few seconds and together with my standard hydrometer gives me 100% accurate readings. I tested them on 5 identical samples at different SGs and both hydrometers and this new refractometer showed the same readings every time. Get my SG…

Pros
  • UNIVERSAL FIT: Ideal for home brewing, wine making, farming, gardening and educational use.
Cons

An essential ingredient for brewing. Excellent purchase!

If you are a brewer, welcome to buy this device. I used this for the first time on my last batch of beers and felt like I was in control for the first time. This device will make you a better brewer! You won't believe how easy it is to use. A few drops and a look and you'll know what your SG is. It is calibrated and ready to use. I measured the SG throughout the mashing process (first time, as mentioned) and felt like I REALLY knew what was going on. It was no more guesswork, hope and prayer…

Pros
  • EASY TO USE: Simply place a drop or two of your drink on the prism and hold the refractometer up to the light, then look through the eyepiece to take a reading. No lookup table and no waste!
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Works perfectly! A few tips to get you started.

Works great! For those just starting out like me, a few things to keep in mind. It requires really accurate measurements just before fermentation and does a fantastic job at it. I would advise ignoring the specific gravity readings entirely and just using Brix. This can still be used to measure the % alcohol during the process! Here's how I use it! Keep in mind that this is an estimate and depends on which calculator you use. I started exclusively with brewersfriend's refractometer calculator -

Very good refractometer for gravity and residual sugar

I have relied on this refractometer since I bought it. It's so easy to use and doesn't waste wort/beer on the reading like you normally do with a standard hydrometer. You use two or three drops and that's it. When you first get it, it's best to take a distilled water reading to make sure it's calibrated. The refractometer comes with a plastic pipette and a small jeweler's screwdriver. You use a screwdriver to adjust the distilled water calibration by setting it to 0. Mine was perfectly…

Pros
  • ACCURATE READINGS WITH ATC: Manual stirred refractometer with automatic temperature compensation (ATC). read the scale.
Cons
