Good translation of lanterns.

I recently purchased the Emperor's Gifts add-on for my copy of the original Lantern, but have never been able to play it. I took Lanterns Dice and it's a decent look at the original Lanterns and I think I can see how the expansion would work in the original. I really liked LD and it's really fun to play dice.

Pros
  • Cover the finished figures with firework tiles to earn points and put on an exciting show!
Cons
  • Upgradable

Great implementation of Roll and Write for a great game!

I'm very picky about scrolling and writing, but I like this one! I think this is one of the best and most balanced videos I've come across. I'm a little biased because I love the original Lanterns game, but that's not an issue. You have so many meaningful choices in play that it's very different from most throws and records. You're also kept busy all the time because you get at least one stage every round.

Pros
  • Earn gifts to perform special actions, complete extra colored lights and create powerful combos.
Cons
  • Piggy Bank Price

I didn't find this game interesting.

Lantern Cube is very easy to play. It's all about rolling the dice and filling the board with the results. You also buy and place tiles for extra points. The bones are well made. The box art is good. The set of disposable game sheets is generous in quantity and quality. Wobbly plastic toy bowl. I didn't enjoy the game. I just didn't feel involved. I prefer Tiny Cities, Cartographer, and Second Chance to Lantern Bones. They all have a similar puzzle/tetris feel and catch my attention.

Pros
  • Decorate the Palace Lake with floating lanterns and set off fireworks to celebrate the holidays!
Cons
  • The list will be long.

I actually like it better than the original!

The original Lanterns game was pretty good. Short. Sweet. It's roll and write and I really like its mechanics. First off, you really need a marker, not a pencil or pen. Things are about to get a mess! Second, you must have something solid to write on because you have a lot to paint on. Now that I've given some tips, the game is really fun. It perfectly captures the theme of the board game and gives it extra depth and strategy. This new breed of board games is really popular and a fairly…

Pros
  • Roll the dice and choose which colored lanterns the player completes on their score sheet.
Cons
  • Socket required
