I love it so far. I can't be wrong I'm glad I spent the money on 100a

Update 1/8/2021. Still works great. More than 1000 kWh have been charged so far. For the user only. Without noise and hectic. It was very good. It changes the charging current depending on the load on the battery, which I also like. This pulls the maximum power out of my panels, which can happen if the battery pack overheats.

Pros
  • . Easy setup
Cons
  • Out of fashion

It's in between with a charge controller that's on the high end.

My problem with the charge controller is the voltage measurement. It was about 0.7 volts higher than the measured battery voltage. And the charge controller has Bluetooth connectivity that can't be matched at the famous 80 feet. There is a need to improve the charge controller's communication with something like an Ethernet system. You need to fix the voltage detection in the charge controller.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Excellent charge controller

I am using this on a medium/small solar system, I have two 320w rooftop solar panels, two Battleborn LiFePO4 batteries in a 12v configuration and a 2000w Renogy -Pure sine wave inverter. This charge controller was easy to set up, I replaced a much cheaper similar sized charge controller with this unit. It seemed much more substantial and, as I said, the setup was simple. First I connected the batteries, then connected the solar panels, the charge controller did most of the setup, I just had to…

  • Excellent design

Works the same as my 40a

I have been using Renogy products for over a year now and have never had a problem. I didn't even look at the system other than to keep track of how much I was charging etc. I needed more power and decided to upgrade my solar system and emailed them to ask what I need to get from 300 to 600w solar power and what would be the most efficient wiring (parallel, serial or parallel/serial) and they gave me all the information I needed. One piece of advice that many people get wrong is that you MUST…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Everything is fine

Renogy's support is poor at best.

Bought 4 200ah gel batteries, 2 3k inverters, cables and 2 100a Rover charge controllers. One of the higher priced Rovers gave out from day one and said my batteries were over 14.5 volts so not charged they were actually at 11.2. After following useless manual check/reconnect instructions dozens of times, opening multiple cases and receiving little to no helpful advice from Renogy and waiting weeks for replies, now it just explodes in a shower of sparks. Even without PV charging. The last…

My screen went blank

This worked fine for almost a year and then the screen went black. I could still see the result on my bluetooth phone until it went blank. I tried to negotiate with Renogy to resolve this expensive purchase but couldn't find anyone willing to help me. They helped me install and purchase batteries and solar panels. I hoped it was easy to fix but they never wanted to fix my blank screen issue. I had to remove it and use the smaller 60 amp charge controller that came with the 1200 watt solar panel

Pros
  • Great for me

  • No

Only lasted 10 months

Worked fine for 10 months then just stopped working one morning. Opened a tech support ticket and then the fun started. First they wanted me to send a short video about the problem. I said it won't turn on, what else do you need to know? So. They forced me to send photos of the voltage readings at the input terminals of the PV module and the battery. The meter's screen and the probes touching the terminals should be in the picture. The worst part was dealing with emails that went unanswered for

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
