Outstanding image quality. I would like a microphone.

This is an amazing camera. I added it to my system to complement multiple 4MP Reolink cameras that work well. While I'm perfectly happy with my existing 4-megapixel cameras, I wanted to see if this new 5-megapixel camera would produce even sharper images, and it didn't disappoint. The only downsides are: * No microphone * Slightly more difficult to adjust the camera position compared to the 4 megapixel version. *

Focusing issue is best seen on CCTV

RLC-511 The Reolink camera is constantly changing focus with constant pulse. The settings did not change the problem. I contacted technical support. The firmware solved the problem of sharpness shifting, but broke the focus control. It took over 5 minutes for the camera to focus. Manual focusing is out of the question. Answer. Closed ticket. I will consider other manufacturers in the future.

Excellent resolution and supported by my NAS

I installed 2 of these Reolink RLC-511 PoE cameras and am very happy with the image quality and software features. Each had a 32GB micro SD card installed and that was enough to take the picture initially. But constant motion alerts became a problem even after motion zones were adjusted and sensitivity lowered: leave them on and be frequently interrupted (often by a passing leaf or moth), turn them off and you might miss something. I've also noticed that the constantly running Reolink app on my

Great picture, high resolution snapshot capabilities, zoom up to 12mm

This IP camera has an optical zoom that has allowed me to zoom in on the mailbox area and leave it that way. I then set up motion detection around the mailbox (nearly 100 feet from the camera) and send myself a photo when the postman delivers. The resolution of the CGI snapshot is the full resolution of the camera, so I can use the Raspberry PI to process the images and create time-lapse videos of the activities around the mailbox during the day. The optical zoom delivers crisp, full-resolution

Downgraded from latest model

I had a Reolink RLC-411S which had a much higher resolution than this camera but it broke and stopped communicating. After getting this as a replacement it was such a downgrade. A downgrade I didn't want. I went from around 3200 x 1800 resolution (see model 411s for specifics) to what this offers. The old model could still distinguish license plates, but that is out of the question with this 511 model. Lots of glare from the sun makes it look overexposed, and let's not even talk about night…

Good camera! â Camera and photo

So far so good, I like this camera. The zoom function works great and the picture is clear. I track via mobile app and pc app and it works fine. It is currently monitoring my mailbox for thieves. The notification function needs improvement. It's pixel-based, so if the image changes, an alert will be sent. If it's outside and clouds are blocking the sun, that's enough for the pixels to change and thus send an alert. When the sun goes down, the same and so on and so on. Aside from the…

Overall very satisfied but room for improvement

Will buy again and highly recommend Video requires Adobe Flash Cannot continuously record to SD card This is a full featured camera. HD quality with built-in server to view current and historical videos. Lots of customization options. configurable motion detection and memory expansion. I have this outside to my driveway. The day picture has clear colors. There's a slight judder when a car drives by, but I'm not sure if it's from the network or the camera. The night image is black and white. I…

High quality equipment and service!

Having waited about a month to write this I can't say enough about the company or these cameras. I originally bought them as an upgrade for RLC-410 units that I had in working condition. After buying 2 I found that my dashcam (formerly RLN8-410) didn't recognize the 5MP resolution setting. I contacted Reolink and received several emails from "Jeremy". He replied within a few hours and walked me through the firmware update which was difficult due to the current firmware version. (I've flashed…

Overview of the RLC-511. PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING!

In its current condition as of July-August 2019, I believe the Reolink RLC-511 security camera has manufacturing defects. Below are my observations. I suggest taking them seriously before buying this camera. I have been using PoE security IP cameras for 6 years. I tested many brands. The Reolink RLC-511 in its current state... has these issues. The first of these renders the camera unusable.1. I have now tested two of these models in a week of installation for moisture damage. I assure you that

good camera The 4:1 zoom is not as zoom as I had hoped.

I installed this camera as an additional camera on my ReoLink NVR system. The quality of the camera seems to be very good. It's very well done. Like most ReoLink instructions I've seen, the instructions that came with it could have been a bit more detailed, but I had no trouble plugging it in and getting it working. I was hoping this camera would have enough zoom so I could read the license plates of cars driving down my street. Resolution and zoom are good enough for that. It is often…
